Flower Mound has 3,100 apartments, but the town has granted entitlement for 7,800 more, which is too many. Apartments increase traffic, require significantly higher resources than higher density residential, and don’t provide residents ownership or a long-term investment in our town. Many developers argue that apartments increase tax revenue for our community, and they do, but over time, we consistently see that apartments reduce surrounding home values and often no longer provide the revenue stream of an equivalent single family home community.
